Submission Guidelines

Since receiving a large number of submissions for inclusion, I have decided to get a little more specific in my guidelines for inclusion. As for eligibility, I have an open policy regarding material on this page. If you send me material, I will put it up or put a link to it from my page (within the constraints of disk space on my machine and my free time). It is my intent to continue to provide as much fun stuff to SFB players as possible, regardless of whether it is official or not.

Please do not send me MIME or UUENCODE graphics files by email at first -- first send me an email message describing the content of the files, the size of the files, and what format they are in (i.e. GIF, JPEG, etc.). I will then reply with the best way to get those over to me and how I can best handle them.

For non-graphics, I would prefer plain text over any sort of editor-specific format (i.e. Word, Word-Perfect, etc.). HTML is fine, of course, as is LaTeX. Anything else is problematic.

What to send

Well, anything you like, really. However, there are a few restrictions, and I have my own preferences.

Because of copyright, I cannot put up anything which directly reproduces material in the SFB rulebooks: i.e. published SSD's, etc. ADB has stated that they will take legal action in this case. However, you can include information from the rules in another form -- ideas cannot be copyrighted, only expression. Thus, I would welcome play aids which can act as quick rules reference or such.

New optional rules, original scenarios, new ships, and so forth are welcome. Personally, I have a soft spot for anything which makes play faster and/or simpler.
