support the various member fleets plagues the Federation forces
during the early days of the war.
- Y92
- After the victory over the Kzintis, the United Fleet curtails
production of all other designs except the Terran saucer design.
Independent member fleets still produce their own designs.
- Y110-111
- Federation-Klingon War. Nearly all offensive operations are
conducted by the United Fleet.
- Y111
- Star Fleet Command Announces a plan to disband all remaining
national fleets and scrap all the ships. This sparks riots and
strikes all over the Federation. A more moderate plan is adopted
that allows the member states to maintain their ships in a
decommissioned state.
- Y112
- The Enclave Defense Plan is adopted by the Federation.
- Y113
- Two weeks after the last Orion squadron is deactivated, three
freighters enter the shipyard of the Orion Reserve Fleet.
Although the defense systems have been sabotaged an alarm is
broadcast. The raiders board and activate 9 escorts, 4 heavy
destroyers, 3 light cruisers, and one heavy cruiser before
reinforcements arrive. In the ensuing battle, one of the escorts
is crippled and abandoned although the rest escape.
One of the freighters is traced to a high ranking member of
the Orion Merchant Association. The plot is traced to a group of
nearly 200 officers from the former national fleets. People are
arrested and questioned all over the Federation but the location
of the `Mutineer Fleet' is not discovered. The mutineers gain a
great deal of grass roots support throughout the Federation
because they are seen by many as striking a blow for freedom
against the policies of Star Fleet Command.
- Y117
- Attacks on Klingon shipping by the mutineers engender counter
raids by the Klingons on Federation territory, nearly start
another Federation-Klingon War. While this is an embarrassment to
the Federation, it gains the mutineers even more popularity. The
mutineers are given the name Orion Pirates by both the Federation
media and the Klingon government. The Klingons declare that they
will continue raids until these Federation' raiders cease raiding
Klingon territory. Star Fleet Command announces its intention to
``annihilate the pirate menace.'' The first Pirate shipyard is
completed and begins conversion of the ships to stealth technology
and adds a suicide bomb.
- Y119

- Y136-142
- 2nd Federation-Kzinti War.
- Y140
- Pirates split over whether to raid in Federation territory. They
split into six cartels: Capitol, Pharaoh, Penzance, Lion's Heart,
Hamilcar, and Davon. Each begin construction of a new shipyard.

- Omega Group Cartel is formed.
- Y167
- The Orion Government begins installing the + refit on the Reserve
Fleet.
- Y169
- An Andromedan Intruder raids within the within the Orion Defense
Zone. A proposal is put forward to activate the Enclave Defense
Plan, but is defeated by a wide margin.
- Y170
- Kubli Cartel is formed.
- Y171
- The Federation is Invaded by the Klingons and joins the General
War.
- Y173
- The Romulans invade the Federation.
- Y174
- A Klingon bombardment squadron tries to slip past the front lines
to devastate the Orion system. They are caught within the Orion
Defensive Zone and badly mauled before they retreat. The Orion
delegation asks the Federation for formal permission to activate
the Enclave Defense Plan. With the Federation losing ground on
all fronts, the council supports the resolution.
The Enclave is declared. The coalition powers all recognize
the new government. The Enclave reactivates and upgrades their
shipyard. Both the Klingons and the Romulans both make probing
attacks.
The Orion Merchant Association sponsors a resolution declaring
the Enclave a free haven for all Pirate cruisers. This plan is
defeated in favor of the Pirate Amnesty Act. Many independent
operators and the Davon Cartel respond. The Davon Cartel begins
to work for the Alliance with covert Federation and Enclave
technical assistance. The Capitol Cartel declares war on the
Enclave.
- Y175
- The Enclave begins production of the N-series cruisers. The
Pharaoh Cartel declares war on the Enclave. The Capitol,
Hamilcar, and Pharaoh Cartels begin attacking the Davon Cartel.
The Davon Cartel responds by giving the Alliance the locations of
many of their bases. Although these conflicts were for the most
part separate, they are collectively known as the Orion Civil
War.
- Y176
- The Enclave begins production of carriers and other variants.
Trade and shipping within the Enclave are brought to a virtual
standstill. Suspecting high level betrayal, Enclave intelligence
begins tightening internal security. Several high ranking members
of the Orion Merchant Association are suspected, but there is not
enough evidence for an accusation. The Cluster and Lion's Heart
Cartels join the attack on Davon.
- Y177
- Enclave intelligence is tipped off that the combined fleets of
the Capitol and Pharaoh Cartels will attack the capitol. The
Enclave Fleet sets a massive trap and devastates the Pirate fleet
with the Capitol Cartel bearing the brunt of the losses. During
the battle, there are many acts of sabotage and transmitting
information to the Pirates. After the battle, some of these acts
are traced to leaders of the Merchant Association. One of these
trades his life for the location of the Capitol Cartel shipyard.
- Y178
- The Enclave begins a counter offensive against the Pirates. This
offensive included destroying several bases outside Enclave
territory. The Enclave develops interceptors with some funding
and technical assistance from the Federation.
- Y179
- The Enclave assaults the Capitol Cartel shipyard. The ensuing
battle destroys all the remaining Capitol heavy units. The
Capitol Cartel effectively ceases to exist as all the surviving
units go independent or join another cartel. The Pharaoh Clan
withdraws from Enclave Territory. The Enclave begins construction
of their first Dreadnought.
- Y180
- The Penzance, Pharaoh and Hamilcar Cartels begin a renewed
assault on the Enclave. The first Dreadnought is launched after a
series of delays that are finally overcome with covert technical
assistance from the Federation.
The Enclave begins construction of PFs. The Federation
rejects the entire PF concept due to the excessive casualties.
They reason that two Squadrons of A-10s can do the same job with
equal effectiveness. Even if the entire force is lost this is at
the cost of only 26 lives. A single PF is far easier to destroy
and this will cost 30 lives and the loss of a full flotilla would
result in nearly 200 casualties. The Enclave Decides to use them
with service in PF squadrons on a strictly voluntary basis. The
Enclave organizes 4 offensive Flotillas.
- Y181
- A joint Federation and Kzinti task force attack and destroy the
Lion's Heart Cartel's shipyard. The location of the shipyard was
provided by Enclave Intelligence. Cluster Cartel Allies with the
Davon Cartel. Enclave begins using Ghost-rider PFs in large
numbers.
- Y182
- Enclave and Federation forces destroy the Penzance Cartel
shipyard. The Hamilcar Clan's Shipyard is heavily damaged by an
assault by the Davon Cartel. Hamilcar Clan sues for peace and
this event is generally recognized as the end of the Orion Civil
War although, sporadic fighting continues for several years.
- Y184
- Dragon Clan is Formed.
- Y185
- Increased raids by Andromedans in the Enclave and surrounding
region. General War ends. The Enclave begins negotiating with
the Federation for reintegration. First X-ship constructed.
- Y186
- Negotiations are suspended due to ISC attacks on Federation and
Enclave Territory.
- Y188
- After the ISC attempt to pacify the Tholians, it is decided to
place a buffer zone between the Federation and the Enclave. The
operation is called off after two months. Although only a few ISC
heavy ships are lost (with the notable exception of a DN) the
losses in gunline ships are over twice the replacement rate. The
high rate of coordination and cooperation between the Federation
and the Enclave give the ISC council enough reason to decide that
the buffer zone is unnecessary.
- Y192
- Andromedans begin their assault on the Enclave and nearby
Federation territory.
- Y193
- Starbase 11 falls to the Andromedans. Enclave Forces are pushed
back to Orion with heavy losses. The Capitol is in danger of
falling when the Federation sends elements of the of the 5th, 6th
and 7th fleets to reinforce the Enclave. Several large battles
are fought near the Capitol and the Andromedans are repulsed with
all sides suffering heavy losses.
- Y195
- Enclave forces begin a counter attack against the Andromedans.
Although some territory is regained, losses are high.
- Y196
- Enclave forces Attack the Rapid Transport Network and disrupt it
nearly completely within Enclave territory. Enclave forces retake
much of their former territory with light losses.
- Y198
- The Andromedans renew their assault upon the Enclave but make
little headway. Enclave forces counter attack and retake all of
their former territory.
- Y199-200
- Enclave forces work with Federation forces to drive all
Andromedan units from Federation Territory.
- Y201
- Enclave forces take part in Operation Unity and serve with
distinction.
- Y203
- The Enclave negotiates final reintegration with the Federation.
