(R?.R) ENCLAVE FLEET REFITS (R?.R1) ENCLAVE MODERNIZATION FLEET REFIT The Orion Government began a series of refits in Y135 on the Reserve Fleet similar to the refits given to the Constellation and Texas Classes. These Refits were complete by Y150 and are assumed on the SSDs. These early ships (before the refit) are the ones that the Pirate variants are based on. These ships are in the Early Years Module. (R?.R2) ENCLAVE "+" FLEET REFITS In Y167 the Orion Government began a series of refits in imitation of the Federation + refits to keep their ships from being outdated on the current battle field. Shields were strengthened and APRs were replaced with AWRs on ships with Photons. Rear firing PH-3s were sometimes added for additional fighter and drone defense. Type A Drone racks are converted to Type G. All drone racks were given extra reloads. Before the Enclave was declared only one ship of each class had been given the refit. When the Enclave was declared these ships were available for immediate activation, while the unrefitted ships had to undergo renovation before they could be activated. This left the enclave in the unique position of fielding their refitted ships before the standard versions. (R?.R3) ENCLAVE N-SERIES SHIPS Not a refit as such, the N-series ships are the ships built as new construction. Some of the Reserve Fleet ships were over 100 years old when they reentered service. The N-series ships used new construction techniques and hull materials that allowed the addition of many systems especially wing mounted weapons. Reserve Fleet ships and Captured Pirate ships cannot be converted to N-series ships. Only the N- series ships can be converted to full Aegis escorts or receive the ASM refit. (Reserve Fleet ships could be converted to escorts but could only have limited Aegis) (R?.R4) ENCLAVE ASM REFIT Some N-series ships, pods, and bases were converted to carry ASM launchers. Such ships replaced the centerline Photons with ASM launchers. ASM launchers cannot be placed in the wings of any Enclave ship except the NCL and its variants. Each ASM that replaces a Photon adds two points to the BPV of the unit. The DN and its variants could replace either two or four Photons with ASM launchers. The HDL replaces both Photons with a single ASM launcher. Battle pods replaced some or all of their Photons with ASM launchers but always do so in pairs. One or both Photons on a BATS could be replaced with ASM launchers. Starbase replaces one Photon in each module. Only size class 1-3 ships and pods can carry ASM launchers. Usually only 40% of the eligible ships in a given squadron had ASM launchers. Ships with this refit are designated with an "A" (e.g. NCAA, BPA, CLCA ETC.). NOTE: If the Enclave had built any of the old series ships with the + refit as part of the construction, they would have been eligable for the ASM refit. (i.e. If the Enclave had built a CA+ in Y170, it would have been eligible for the ASM refit.) (R?.R5) ENCLAVE ASM MECH-LINK REFIT Starting in Y181, the Enclave began deploying a modified mechanical linkage that allowed a tractor to act as a one shot ASM launcher. All Enclave ships can modify any or all of their tractors in this manner at a cost of one point per modified tractor. This does not include the cost of an ASM. The cost of a standard ASM is 3 points, so a mech-link with a standard ASM is 4 points. The actual cost may be more or less depending on the cost of the ASM and any drones, pods and packs that are purchased. It was not uncommon for an entire fleet to have modified all of the available tractors to this configuration during the Andromedan War. (R?.R6) ENCLAVE MECH-LINK REFIT: Many of the larger warships of the Enclave were at one time or another modified to act as a temporary PFT for a squadron of Ghost Rider PFs. This was usually done only on ships with six tractors and three auxilury control spaces. Occasionally, smaller ships recieved this refit. This refit cost one point per modified tractor. Ships with this refit always towed Ghost Rider PFs and never carried manned PFs into combat. (R?.R7) NOTE ON ESCORTS Enclave Escorts have cargo boxes for storing supplies for the carrier and follow the same guidelines as Federation Escorts (R2.R5).
