(R?.3) CLAYMORE IMPROVED DREADNOUGHT (DN+): In Y187 as the enclave was just finishing the conversion of the second DN to a Ballista, it was asked if the current Dreadnoughts could fulfill their given role as fleet combat leaders adequately. A design was put forward which increased the combat potentials of the DN, without requiring a new hull. This ship included the abilities to handle a full squadron of Death riders as well as built in ASM launchers. It is known that construction was started and there are several references to a DN known as the Death Master which is assumed to have been built in this configuration. There is a puzzling reference which may indicate that the Death Master may have been completed as an X-Ship. ASMs have four reloads. ASMs that replace photons have two reloads.

(R?.4) GREAT BOW HEAVY CARRIER (DNV): The second dreadnought was completed in Y182 as a heavy carrier. Given the name Bowman its first test came in the joint assault with the Federation on the Penzance Cartel's shipyard. The battle turned when the Bowman fired an salvo that destroyed the Pirate BCH Bounty. Loaded with 16 F-15s, 8 A-10s, and 4 administrative shuttles, it usually deployed them in two squadrons of 8 Fs and 4 As or three homogeneous squadrons. Officially the class carried two SWACs in place of two admins, but often operated with only one or none due to shortages of this specialized units. Could carry F-111s but if they ever did so, it was not recorded. After Y183 a full Spear DDV carrier group with all escorts is assigned to each Great Bow as escorts. These ships were often sent on independent strikes, but occasionally the full Carrier Battle fleet would combine for a single operation. Spare shuttles include 4 Fs, 2 As, and 2 admins.

(R?.5) BALLISTA SPACE CONTROL CRUISER (DNS):Both dreadnoughts were converted to Ballistas during the lull between the General War and the ISC War. This design proved itself during the joint defense with the Federation against the ISC. They led the fleets that turned the tide against the ISC and are credited with the first ISC Dreadnought kill. This is despite the fact that both ships were crippled twice during the fighting. When the Andromedans invaded in Y192, These ships were once again called upon to lead the defense. In Y193 the Swordsman went down over Orion in a fleet action against two Intruders, in which both fleets were completely destroyed. Although this design kept the full armament and strike wing of the Great Bow class, it did so at the expense of inadequate repair facilities for the gunships. It carried 16 F-15s, 8 A-10s, and 4 administrative shuttles at first but later carried 8 P-10s in place of 8 of the F-15's Carried two SWACs when available (which was rare). Each Ballista had a full Spear DDV carrier group assigned to it as escorts. Spare shuttles include 4 Fs, 2 As, and 2 admins.

(R?.6) HAND AND A HALF SWORD LIGHT DREADNOUGHT (DNL): In Y182, the Enclave began construction upon a Bastard Sword BCH. The resulting ship was completed in Y184, but after field testing, it was deemed unsuitable for combat and sent back to the shipyards. The ship was extensively overhauled and the engines were completely replaced. The resulting ship was the Hand and a Half DNL, christened the Battle Chief. An interesting note was that the second ship of this hull class (a DNLV) was actually fielded two weeks before the first one in Y186. The ASM has four reloads. ASMs that replace photons have two reloads. Enclave engineers were fairly sure that the DNL could take off and land safely on a planetary surface, but did not recommend doing so except in an emergency.

(R?.7) COMPOUND BOW HEAVY STRIKE CARRIER (DNLV): The first DNL ever finished was the second started. The Huntsmaster was launched and became operational two weeks before its older sibling. The DNLs saw little combat during the ISC war due to the fact that they were deployed in the rear areas to protect against breakthroughs, pirates and incursions of other powers. The Huntsmaster also had the unfortunate distinction of being the first major casualty of the Andromedan War. In fact, many historians date the start of the Andromedan war to this battle. In Y192, the Huntsmaster had sent its supporting carriers and most of its escorts to investigate pirate activity in another system, when a fully loaded Intruder ambushed it and its lone escort. It was destroyed before any help could arrive. ASM haS four reloads. ASMs that replace photons have two reloads. Was eligible to carry a SWAC. It may have carried F16s on at least one occasion.

(R?.8) REPEATING CROSSBOW LIGHT SPACE CONTROL SHIP (DNLS): The Repeating Crossbow kept much of the strike wing of the DNLV. The DNLS Champion had the unhappy distinction of holding the Enclave record for losing the most escorts in combat during the Andromedan War. Its Fleet was attacked by the Four times during the War, losing a total of 8 escorts. ASM haS four reloads. ASMs that replace photons have two reloads. Was not eligible to carry a SWAC.

(R?.9) LONG SWORD COMMAND CRUISER (CC): The Long Sword class was first fielded in Y178 as a fleet flagship. It lead the initial counterattacks of the Orion Civil War and the assault on the Capitol Cartel shipyard that effectively annihilated that cartel. While not called a BCH, it is one in everything but name. Most ships of this class were eventually converted to Heavy Crossbow CCSs. Although the Orion BCH is similar to this class in many respects, it is not a variant and cannot be converted to or from this class.

(R?.10) LONG BOW STRIKE CARRIER (CCV): First fielded in Y179, the Long Bow class quickly became the bane of Pirate forces. It was the main fleet carrier of the second half of the Orion Civil War. It combined the firepower of the Command Cruiser and a full strike wing of both Drone and Photon armed fighters. Carried 12 Fs, 6 As, and two admin shuttles. The Long Bow carried a SWAC in place of one admin if there were enough available (which was rare). These Fighters were F-15s and A-10s until the DNVs were built, when they carried F-18s and A-8s. It was also common for it to carry P-10s usually replacing half the F-18s. The DDV could be deployed with two escorts as a separate unit or integrated into the formation. Spare shuttles include 4 Fs, 2 As, and 1 admin.

(R?.11) HEAVY CROSSBOW SPACE CONTROL CRUISER (CCS): Converted concurrently with the DNS, this design is a conversion of the Long Sword CC not the CCV. It traded fighter capacity for the ability to carry and repair gunships. Both of the ships of this class were destroyed during the Andromedan War. The General was lost in a battle with an Infester in a battle for Orion's major colony world in the capitol hex. The Marshal was lost during the Enclave's unsuccessful counterattack of the Andromedans. It carried either 12 F-18s or 6 F-111s, one SWAC (if available), and one admin shuttle. Sometimes half the fighters would be replaced with P-10s. It could dock one gunship internally for repair as well as repair two others externally. During the Andromedan war, the ship may have carried heavy fighters on the mech links. If this is the case the repair is converted to AWR. The DDV and its escorts could be deployed separately or integrated into the formation.

(R?.12) KATANA NEW HEAVY CRUISER (NCA): After the Orion Government had finished with the modernization refit, it was noted that the older cruisers could not be modified to incorporate some of the newer technology, especially the new hull materials. A new design was planed to incorporate and take advantage of these new technologies. The plans were upgraded as technology improved. The ability to be converted to a carrier was incorporated into the design. Finally in Y175 the plans were turned into reality. After construction was complete, it was found that the design could be upgraded even further to produce the Long Sword CC. This design was rare due to the order of precedence in construction. Of those few that were built, most were converted to one of the ships variants.

(R?.13) SLASHING SWORD FAST CRUISER (CF): In Y182 the Enclave produced the CF Vision of Glory in order to increase their ability to hunt down lone pirate cruisers. The Vision destroyed four and captured one prate cruiser before it was ambushed and destroyed the next year (after hostilities had officially ended). Two more were built and were used for raiding the ISC rear areas. None of this class survived the Andromedan invasion.

(R?.14) CATAPULT BOMBARDMENT CRUISER (CB): The Catapult was designed to combine the functions of a PFT and a Drone bombardment ship. The records about this cruiser are an anomaly. The design was created at the end of the Orion Civil war, but it was not produced at that time due to the fact that other ships had precedence in production. After that there is simply no mention of any kind of the Catapult. It seems to be an excellent design for hunting down the bases of the Andromedan rapid transport network. Whether or not it was built is an open question. It would not carry manned PFs. The ASMs had four reloads. This ship can dock one PF internally for repair, but this splits the shuttle bay into two bays.

(R?.15) ATLATL SURVEY CRUISER (SR): During the Orion Civil War, the Enclave realized that they would need to expand their resources on order to survive. The area around the Enclave had been subject to a general survey, but much of it had not had a specific survey and a great deal of it had not been fully developed. (The number of star systems in even a single F&E hex is in the tens of thousands.) A design was scheduled for production, but was not produced due to the greater need for CC variants which took precedence. In Y180 the advent of PFs caused the class to be entirely redesigned to carry them. Thai is why this design is sometimes referred to as the Survey Control Ship. It would move into a central system and send its charges to survey the surrounding systems. The first ship of this class, the Barbarian King, was launched in Y181. The Atlatl carries specialized 3 Survey PFs, 2 Ghost-Riders, and a cargo PF. The PFs were seldom drone variants due to storage problems. When the Atlatl starts a survey run, it has only two active shuttles, This is because the rest of the bay is used as cargo storage for spare shuttles. The spare shuttles include 10 Admins, 4 prospecting, 2 HTS, and two GAS. In war deployment it would carry 8 F-18s and 6 Ghost-Riders. Spare would include 3 Fs and 2 admin. This ship would have a DDE and an FFE assigned as escorts if they were available. The cargo boxes would carry 300 spaces of drones or 200 and 10 ASMs with the A Refit.

(R?.16) SWORD HEAVY CRUISER (CA): Backbone of both the Orion Sphere Fleet and the Enclave Defense Forces, and a rival of the Constellation Class, it fought in both the first Federation-Kzinti War and the first Federation-Klingon War. Retired in Y113, these ships sat in mothballs for over 60 years (with the exception of the one stolen by the Pirates). The first Sword, the Might was reactivated in Y174 and was immediately put into action as the Enclave fleet flagship. Since there were no variants to convert CAs to, these veterans continued to serve through the Andromedan War. The oldest surviving ship was nearly 200 years old when finally retired. The large number of tractors on the wings were originally intended as drone defense. The Swords are more than a match for the Pirate Marauder class. Captured Pirate heavy cruisers can be converted to this configuration.

Variants include the Orion Pirate Heavy Cruiser (R8.3)
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.17) GLAIVE LIGHT COMMAND CRUISER (CLC): This ship helped relieve the burden on the heavy cruisers. Although slightly underpowered for its armament (especially with the ASM refit), it was still a match for any of the Pirate heavy ships until the Orion BCH came on line. In later years, these ships often carried a flotilla of Death-Rider PFs on the wings. The ship initially had a small flag bridge that was converted to auxiliary control to allow it to control a full squadron of PFs. None of these ships survived the initial Andromedan assault due to the Andro tactic of warping in at high speed to ambush isolated squadrons.

(R?.18) SHORT BOW CARRIER (CLV): The first Enclave true carrier. The Short Bow became the core of the Enclave Fleet. A good CVS, although it was very power hungry. During the ISC and Andromedan wars it was deployed in a semi-SCS configuration with 6 Death-Riders on mech-links. Both CLVs were lost during the battles of the Andromedan assault on the Orion home world. Carried 12 F-15s, 4 A-10s, 1 SWAC (theoretically), and one admin shuttle until the Long Bow CCVs were built. After that it carried 12 F-18s, 4 A-8s, and 2 admin shuttles. If their were not enough F-18s available then it would carry F-16s. During the Andromedan war this ship often carried 18 P-10s in place of all of the other fighters. At least one ship of this class carried A-20s and F-111s. This ship served in support roles after the DNVs were built. The Javelin FFV and its escorts could be deployed separately or integrated into the main formation. Spare shuttles include 3 Fs, 1 A, and 1 admin.

(R?.19) SABER NEW LIGHT CRUISER (NCL): When the design for the light cruiser was being upgraded in Y168, the Saber design was proposed as a match for the new war cruisers that were just coming on line. Unlike the other N-ships, this design called for larger engines. This ship is not technically a war cruiser and the Enclave did not build war construction ships as such. The NCL and its variants were also the only Enclave classes that could carry ASM launchers in the wings.

Variants include: the Glaive Light Command Cruiser (R?.17).
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.20) SHORT SWORD LIGHT CRUISER (CL): The Short Sword has always been the maverick of Orion ship design. It was the first Orion ship designed as a warp capable cruiser (the CA and the HD being sublight conversions). Not as maneuverable as its brothers, it none the less is the core of most Enclave formations. Its long history of success has earned this design the respect of its detractors. When first deployed in Y174 it surprised many opponents with its firepower and versatility, who were expecting similar performance to the Salvage. It served well in the Orion Civil War, but the remaining hulls were converted to CLDs or CLPs by the ISC War. Unlike the Salvage, the Short Sword is intended to directly engage other warships. Captured Salvage cruisers (or any variants) can be converted to Short Swords, and in fact, a defecting Pirate CVL was converted to this configuration.

(R?.21) NAGINATA DRONE CRUISER (CLD): Designed for both long range bombardment, EW support, and direct combat, the Naginata is a very strong support ship. Beginning its career in the base assaults of the Orion Civil War, it went on to serve as a fleet support ship against the ISC. Its true days of glory were during the hunt for Andromedan satellite bases. It frequently destroyed smaller bases before reinforcements could arrived. Special sensors are destroyed on Phaser hits.

This ship has 100 spaces of drones in its cargo bay.
(R?.22) CROSSBOW GUNSHIP TENDER (CLP): In Y178 a single CL was converted into a Crossbow to test the Dart Interceptors. When the Bolt Gunship was deployed in Y180, several more were built. After the larger PFTs were built (e.g. SCS and CCS) the PF squadrons were transferred to them and the Crossbows carried only unmanned PFs. Unlike many PFTs, the Crossbow would usually enter combat alongside its charges. Could dock one gunship internally for repairs as well as the repair positions on the wings. Special sensors are destroyed on Torpedo hits.

Refits: No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.23) CUTLASS HEAVY DESTROYER LEADER (HDL): Used extensively to lead military convoys during the Orion Civil War due to its excellent combat facilities, rather than the lack thereof as would be the case of a ship of another fleet relegated to this duty. More than a match for any of the standard Pirate cruisers. Rarely if ever received the ASM refit due to the fact that only one ASM replaced both Photons, although this ASM had four reloads.
Refits: This ship is eligible for the ASM refit.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.24) RAPIER NEW HEAVY DESTROYER (NHD): Designed concurrently with the other N-series ships, the Rapier was probably the least improved. It was still capable of taking on most CLs and CWs, and had a good record against these opponents.

Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.25) HORSE BOW MEDIUM CARRIER (HDV): After the conclusion of the Orion Civil War, the Enclave found itself in the unusual position of having far too many HDTs. There was talk of scrapping or moth-balling some of the excess cruisers. A design was put forward to convert the ships to a carrier configuration. By the time of the ISC War, the excess' HDTs had all been converted to HDVs. The Horse Bow still retains the ability to carry pods. During the ISC and Andromedan Wars, the HDV was often deployed with CTRs and CTTs to form repair and resupply points. This proved to be fatal due to Andromedan tactics and 3 of the 4 HDVs were destroyed. Usually carried 4xA-8s and 8xF-18s, but could carry F-111s and A-20s. Sometimes carried P-10s in place of some or all of the fighters. Spare shuttles include 2 x Admins, 2 x Fs and 1 x A.

(R?.26) SHIELD WALL HEAVY ESCORT (HDE): The most powerful of the Enclave escorts, the Shield Wall was built to escort the Long Bow CCVs. It proved so successful that it was also used to escort the Short Bow CLVs and Great Bow DNVs. It was also in very short supply. Many of the larger carriers did not get all of the HDEs that were officially listed as their escorts and had to make due with smaller ships. The Shield Wall had full Aegis when built.

(R?.27) MORNING STAR TACTICAL TRANSPORT (HDT): The peculiar style of the Orion Civil War made the Morning Star one of the most important of the Enclave Fleet. Used in the dual role of convoy escort and transport, this ship was fully capable of taking on most Pirate cruisers without any augmentation by pods. Able to carry one pod which may be double weight. An HDT carrying a battle pod is nothing short of awesome, although there is no record of one ever doing so. All battle pods carried by the HDT have the ASM refit to avoid shock affects.

(R?.28) SCIMITAR HEAVY DESTROYER (HD): The Scimitar class is more properly a light cruiser, it was classified as a heavy destroyer to avoid confusion with the Short Sword class, which is more properly a medium cruiser. An extremely maneuverable unit with adequate firepower. The Scimitar class dates back to the first Federation- Kzinti War. Unlike its Pirate cousin the Raider the Scimitar is NOT nimble. Captured Raider cruisers can be converted to Scimitars.

(R?.29) HALBERD HEAVY SCOUT (HDS): The Halberd is the primary combat scout for the Enclave fleet. Unlike many scouts it retains much of its primary firepower. This was done to counter the tactic sending a cloaked unit to knock out the heavy scout. Any frigate (and most destroyers) would find the Halberd a tough opponent in direct combat. In most cases the Photon would remain unarmed (or held) unless it looked like the enemy would break through. Special sensors are destroyed on Torpedo hits.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y170. Others were refitted after Y174.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
(R?.30) WAR HAMMER COMMANDO CRUISER (HDC): Developed to counter the large boarding party compliments of the Pirate cruisers, the War Hammer became a standard part of Enclave fleet formations. During the Orion Civil War, it was standard operating procedure to send a War Hammer along with a convoy if Enclave forces were tipped off to a Pirate raid. Has 40 boarding parties including 3 commando, 4 HWS, and 4 ground combat vehicles. Could replace two shuttles with one HTS. One spare shuttle is an GAS.

Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
Shuttles: 3 GAS and 2 admin.
(R?.31) MAIN GAUCHE DESTROYER LEADER (DDL): Used to lead convoys that were considered only in moderate danger of pirate attack. The Main Gauche was quite capable of taking on a Pirate Raider. It gained fame during the ISC war by leading the assaults on the gun line ships while the heavier ships concentrated on the main ships. Needless to say, losses were high. Many of these were lost during the Andromedan War, but gave a good account of themselves, often taking at least one satellite ship with them.

This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.32) SAI NEW DESTROYER (NDD): The Sai had the edge that the older DDs lacked. The most common and powerful of the fleet support ships. One of the most common convoy escorts. This class is credited with more pirate kills than any other class in the galaxy. This ship saw heavy action in every major action that the Enclave undertook.

(R?.34) BROAD SWORD DESTROYER (DD): A fairly good fleet support, but it lacked an edge against its opponents. Most Broad Swords were converted to either Spear DDVs or Pole Axe DDSDs. It has been supposed that this ship was somehow unsuitable for conversion to Pirate technology. This would explain why none were taken in the original theft and why the Pirates never attempted to build a version of their own.
Refits: The first of this class received the + refit in Y169. The others of this class received the refit beginning in Y174.
Variants include Spear Light Carrier (R?.35), Light Crossbow Gunship Tender (R?.36), Pole Axe Drone Scout (R?.37), and Trident Minesweeper (R?.38) .
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.35) SPEAR LIGHT CARRIER (DDV): Built in large numbers during the Orion Civil War as convoy escorts. Its complement of fighters was unusual for a ship of its size in that it included Photon armed fighters as well as Drone armed fighters. The Spear was the first Enclave carrier whose escort group also included a smaller carrier as part of its regular escorts. If sent on an independent mission while assigned to another carrier it would always have one or two escorts and could have as many as four escorts. After the Orion Civil War several of the carrier groups were broken up to serve as escorts for the larger carriers. It normally carried 6 F-18s, 4 A-8s and 2 admin. Some of these carried P-10s in the place of some or all of the fighters, especially when acting as escorts. Rarely carried heavy fighters although it could do so. Never carried a SWAC. Spare shuttles included 2 Fs, 1 A and 1 admin.
This ship has a tunnel bay (J1.58).
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)

Y179+ FFV, 2xDDE, 2xFFE 6xF-18, 4xA-8
(R?.36) LIGHT CROSSBOW GUNSHIP TENDER (DDP): Designed for fleet support and convoy escort duties. Always carried unmanned PFs. Some of these ships were converted from Pole Axes while others were converted from Broad Swords. Was considered only moderately successful due to its lack of direct combat capability. This ship can dock one PF internally for repair.
Refits: All ship received the +Refit as part of their original conversion.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.37) POLE AXE DRONE SCOUT DESTROYER (DDSD): Designed to give both Drone and Electronic Warfare support. The Pole Axe was used in a fleet support role during the Orion Civil War. After the war most of the remaining DDs were converted to this configuration. Special Sensors are destroyed on Torpedo hits.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y168. The others received theirs beginning in Y174.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
This ship has 100 spaces of drones in its cargo bay.
(R?.38) TRIDENT MINESWEEPER (DDM): A good minesweeper with strong 2 and 6 shields similar to the Federation MS. The large shields had the side effect of a greater power drain than a similar ship its size, but this was considered a small price to pay for the extra protection.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y170. The others of this class received theirs beginning in Y174.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
Shuttles: This ship had two MSS.
(R?.39) DIRK FRIGATE LEADER (FFL): A marginal improvement over the Blade FFN (Stronger shields). Used primarily to guard convoys that were important but were not as likely candidates for Pirate attacks. After the Orion Civil War it was used in fleet formations for Drone support.
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.40) BLADE NEW FRIGATE (FFN): A great improvement over the Dirk class. This ship was rare during the Orion Civil War due to need for the Buckler class escort which had precedence in production. This class took the heaviest losses during the ISC War, due to excellent ability as a drone support platform. It was small enough that it was extremely vulnerable to PPDs, and enough of a threat to be targeted by several.
No refits.
Variants include: Dirk Frigate Leader (R?.39), Buckler Escort Frigate (R?.41).
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.41) BUCKLER ESCORT FRIGATE (FFE): This class saw almost continuous action, from the time it was introduced until the Andromedan War. This ship is suited for only one mission; killing Drones and fighters. Since this is precisely its job as a carrier escort, this works out well. This class suffered particularly heavy losses during the Andromedan War The Buckler had full Aegis when first built.
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.42) DAGGER FRIGATE (FF): A reasonable design, fair for fleet support but unsuitable for independent action. It is not known why the Dagger was never copied by the Pirates. All remaining ships of this type were eventually converted to Spear FFVs or Pike FFSDs.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y167. The others began receiving their refits in Y174.
Variants include: Javelin Escort Carrier (R?.43), Pike Drone Scout Frigate (R?.44).
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.43) JAVELIN ESCORT CARRIER (FFV): The ships of this class were unique in that all of them were assigned to another larger carrier as part of their escort group. The original idea was that this allowed the Enclave to field more fighters without the cost of building the larger carriers. It gave added flexibility to the Carrier groups because they could break into two parts if the situation warranted it. This eventually led to all the larger carriers being assigned such escorts. The Javelin normally carried 6 F-18s and 2 admin. Later some carried 6 P-10s in the Andromedan War. This carrier did not have a formal escort group, instead if it were to go on its own it would take a DDE and a FFE but could have any of the larger carrier's escorts. It would always have at least one escort and could have as many as three. Never carried heavy fighters although it was theoretically possible. Never carried a SWAC. Spare shuttles are 2 x Fs and 1 x Admin.
This ship has a tunnel bay (J1.58)
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.44) PIKE DRONE SCOUT FRIGATE (FFSD): Like the larger Pole Axe class, this ship was intended to provide both Drone and Electronic Warfare support to a squadron. Used extensively during the Orion Civil War as part of squadrons escorting valuable convoys. Often was deployed with the DDV carrier groups. Special Sensors are destroyed on Torpedo hits.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y170. The others began receiving their refits in Y174.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
This ships has 100 spaces of drones stored in its cargo bay.
(R?.45) STILETTO CORVETTE (CT): The Stiletto class was quickly found to be inadequate for anti-Pirate work once the Orion Civil War started. All surviving police forces were integrated into the main fleet during the war. The hull was found to be too small for conversion to most support ship roles. Many of the ships of this class were eventually converted to CTTs or CTRs. Noticeably inferior to its Pirate cousin, although the plus refit helps considerably. Captured Light Raiders can be converted to Stilettos. A captured Double Raider could (with a major shipyard overhaul) be converted into two Stilettos.
Note: N-Series CTs were identical to the CT+ and had the reporting name of Throwing Knife.
Refits: The first ship of this class received the + refit in Y170. The others of this class received the refit beginning in Y174.
Variants include: Mace Priority Transport (R?.46), Military Pick Repair Ship (R?.47), Light Raider (R8.7), Double Raider (R8.14).
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.46) MACE PRIORITY TRANSPORT (CTT): Converted in large numbers during the Orion Civil War to form the core of many military convoys. Along with Q-Ships. Orion Freighters (Slavers) and armed freighters, the mace was defensible enough that it could get through and helped turn the tide of the Orion Civil war by getting trade started again.
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.47) MILITARY PICK REPAIR SHIP (CTR): This ship is a modification of the Mace class, designed to serve as a tactical repair platform. Due to the nature of the of the fighting during the Orion Civil war, they were often sent out to meet wounded ships before they could be ambushed by another pirate. Losses in this class were extremely heavy during the Civil war.
No refits.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
This ship is nimble (C11.0)
(R?.48) AXE FLEET TUG (TG): Although similar to the Short Sword class in some respects, the Axe is a much larger ship built along the same lines. This ship was designed to use Federation pods (since the Enclave already had quite a few) and carries them in the same manner. It may carry two pods, one in front of the other, one of which may be double weight. Battle Pods may only be carried in the front position. The cargo bay of this unit is semi-modular and can be converted to any of the alternate configurations in a matter of a few days at a starbase or shipyard. This is reflected in that the entire bay labeled as NWO boxes like those of the HDWs or the Barbarians of C4. If you do not have these simply treat them as cargo. The bay was usually entirely cargo, but is also known to be repair or even barracks and rarely, fighters. The Axe can carry up to three HTS shuttles in place of the admins. Like the DN, there was some debate over whether the Axe could take off again after landing on a planetary surface. The Axe cannot land on a planet by any means except crashing when carrying a pod. The ship had several alternate designations when carrying different pods; BP = Great Axe, LBP = Battle Axe, CVA = Tomahawk, CVL = Throwing Axe, SCS = War Axe, PFT = Hatchet.
This ship has a tunnel bay (J1.58)
Refits: This ship is eligible for the ASM refit.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus (theoretically).
(R?.49) GUNSHIP TENDER POD (P-PFT): Used to turn a tug or LTT into a PFT. Historically, it was never assigned a crewed gunship squadron. Capable of independent operations. This pod can dock two gunships internally for repair. This pod can be carried and operated by both Federation and Enclave tugs and LTTs. Special Sensors are destroyed on Phaser hits.
Can land on planets by the gravity landing system.
(R?.50) SPACE CONTROL POD (P-SCS): A modification of the Federation CVA pod, trading fighter capacity for gunship repair facilities. The pod can dock two gunships internally for repair, but each internally docked gunship blocks one end of a tunnel bay. This pod can be carried and operated by both Federation and Enclave tugs and LTTs. This ship carries 20 F-18s and has no formal escorts. Capable of independent operations. It is not known if any pods of this type were actually ever built.
Can land on planets by the gravity landing system.
(R?.51) HAMMER CIVILIAN FREIGHTER (FGT): This is the ship that the Orion economy is based upon. These ships are seen everywhere trade is allowed (and some places that it isn't). These ships have been continuously in production at Orion for over 100 years. The Orion government owns very few of these ships, most being in the hands of private merchants. The Pirate version of this ship is the Slaver. Although the Slaver has more cargo boxes, the Hammer has half again the cargo capacity. The plus refit was available in Y145, although unrefitted ships were reported to be operating after Y180. An interesting note is that pirate cartels probably own many times more Hammers than they do Slavers. The Hammers conduct the legal business and the Slavers the rest.
Refits: This ship is eligible for the + refit.
Landing (P2.43) gravity, powered, aerodynamic; bonus.
Variants: Orion Slaver R8.5.
