SFB Discussion Groups
There is lots of discussion around the Net regarding SFB. There are
several web-based forums which you can reach, including:
-
Star Fleet Universe Discussion Board
- This is the "official" discussion board, with occaisional input
from the designers. It is very active and covers a wide range
of topics.
-
Mark J. Means' SFB Web-Based BBS
- A less active single-topic board, which still has regular
usage.
-
Mark J. Means' SFB Web-Based BBS#2
- A less active group but which is split up into more dedicated
topics (Early Years, for example) and which has more features.
-
Dejanews: rec.games.board
- This is a general UseNet board games discussion group, using
DejaNews to filter and archive. SFB discussion is rare but
occaisionally comes up.
-
WebRPG's SFB Forum
-
-
Unofficial Mailing List (archives and subscription)
- This is the new unofficial mailing list, run by Alex Fulton via
onelist.com. It replaced
an earlier unofficial list run by Robert Schirmer.
-
Archives of Robert Schirmer's Mailing List
-
Email Listserv
On email, there is an unofficial mailing list run by Alex Fulton for
SFB as well as F&E and Prime Directive. There were other mailing
lists, but they are now obselete. The official mailing list run by
ADB has been dead for a long time. The unofficial list run by Robert
Schirmer is being replaced by Alex's automated listserv.
You can subscribe by email by sending to the following accounts:
-
StarFleetUniverse-subscribe@onelist.com
- To subscribe to the list.
-
StarFleetUniverse-unsubscribe@onelist.com
- To unsubscribe from the list.
-
StarFleetUniverse-digest@onelist.com
- To switch your subscription to digest mode.
-
StarFleetUniverse-normal@onelist.com
- To switch your subscription to normal mode.
Non-Internet Online Forums
There are two possibilities here:
- The GEnie network is where ADB originally
connected, and in the past ADB was very active there with
downloads of official playtest material and real-time conferences
with staffers. I am unsure of the present status. SFB is
Category 10, page 805, in the Games Roundtable.
You can call GEnie at 800-638-9636 for more information.
- CompuServe also has a connection to ADB.
You can contact ADB at 71333,2123 and TFG at 76443,3031. You
will find messages in Section 13 of the PBM/Board/Card Games
Forum. Erratta and playtest material are in the libraries.
To get on line, call 800-524-3388 and ask for Representative #437
for a free introductory membership.
